“isolation”
a short film made during lockdown about lockdown
Sick of being alone? You're not…
In the spirit of Japanese horror movies like The Ring and The Grudge, comes a short story about the COVID-19 lockdown’s effects on the human psyche. In isolation, our mind becomes our worst enemy, and our inner demons become our external ones.

“This was a fun project to create while each of us was isolated in different parts of the country. It was enlightening to see how far we could push a cohesive narrative with only a couple of shots. I was particularly impressed with how the actors’ independent performances meshed so well in the edit, and how impactful some careful sound design and minimal motion graphics can be. Nathan writes such smooth dialogue too that it looks like these guys completely improvised the entire thing.”

“Creating something during isolation in a pandemic is an interesting challenge and one that I thought we could actually embrace and use to tell the story. I think that this short proves that while big budget effects and high-resolution cameras have their place, a simply written script with believable performance and some clever editing can lead to an effective and creepy little story.”
